AOR HEAVEN ::: N E W S L E T T E R ::: 11/20/2020 |
|
|
Howdy melodic rockers,
Expect the unexpected – well, that
might be a phrase in life, but what happened this week
is really unbelievable. This week we have updated our
invoice software (as suggested) and after this our
entire business has been terminated !
We can’t do any more invoice, cause
the program has killed all necessary infos and by trying
to restore the data base there’s a message that the data
base is damaged !
The hotline don’t has any solution
and telling us that our problem is the top priority –
until now I don’t know what this means – will they solve
our problem due soon, in a month or in a year – I don’t
know and I’m freaked out.
Time to go to the public with this
shit and sending a big thanks to lexware.de !!
Even Corona couldn’t affect us that
much as they did !
Once there is a light at the end of
the tunnel we’ll inform you with a special newsletter.
Have a great week
Georg & Monika

AOR HEAVEN RELEASES:
ALIEN Into The Future
|
A: 11 € |
B: 13 € |
|
|
|
ALIEN is back with a new album. The Swedish outfit around Jim Jidhed (v), Tony Borg (g) and Toby Tarrach (d) sound unexpectently heavy and really rock like hell. But at the end of the day, it’s Jidhed’s voice alone that makes AOR freaks smile broadly. Tracks like “Night On Fire“, “Time Is Right“ or “Freedom Wind“ might be classified as classic ALIEN material, even though definitely heavier but the opener “You Still Burn“ definitely surprises even more, like “Really Wheeling It“ does. Really heavy guitars and a contemporary production are nothing but bridging the gap from eighties AOR to hard rock today.

EAST TEMPLE AVENUE - East Temple Avenue
|
A: 11 € |
B: 13 € |

A new melodic supergroup? Well, in a way, yes! EAST TEMPLE AVENUE, the “baby“ of Australian Darren Phillps (g) who collaborates with the Swedes Philip Lindstrand (g, ARKADO), Dennis „Butabi“ Borg (b, CRUZH) and Herman Turin (d, WORK OF ART) as well as with the mighty voice Robbie LaBlanc (v, FIND ME, BLANC FACES) and delivers an AOR/melodic milestone. Let alone ´“Don’t Make Believe“, “My Last Breath“ or “When I’m With You“ shine. The ballads “The End Of Me“ and “Where Love is“ are amazing, too. Great production, absolutely no fillers and stellar musicianship are key points here. Please more, guys! Stadion rock-like anthems and emotional tunes which will definitely stay.

EXPECTED NEW RELEASES !!
JADED HEART - Stand Your Ground
(ltd. edition digi pack)
|
A: 14,5 € |
B: 17,5 € |
|
|
|
“Stand Your Ground“ is the
fourteenth album ever in the band’s history and the eighth with singer Johan
Fahlberg. For the first time ever the German-Swedish outfit does not use any
keyboards whatsoever but offers powerful composition, catchy melodies and
countless opportunities to bang your head. Probably the best effort in the
recent history of the band. Just take the mighty title track or „Break Free“ as
proof.

PATTY SMYTH - It's About Time (digi-pack)
|
A: 13 € |
B: 15,5 € |
|
|
|
After almost 30 years, former SCANDAL
vocalist PATTY
SMYTH returns with a new album properly titled ”It’s
About Time”. Patty couldn’t have come up with a more
appropriate title for the new record, her first set of original songs in 28
years. But there’s a reason; the long hiatus between albums wasn’t due to a lack
of trying, she has been busy raising six children, performing with SCANDAL
following their reunion in the mid 2000s, acting and providing the Netflix
series Glow with its theme. Produced by mega-talented Dann Huff (Giant), ”It’s
About Time” shows that Patty Smyth has’t lost any color of her unique voice, and
the material is really strong resembling the vocalist’s 80s style.

STAN BUSH - Dare To Dream
|
A: 12,5 € |
B: 15 € |
|
|
|
STAN BUSH is one of the undisputed masters of eighties AOR
that can be found on many soundtracks back in the day. The compositions are
exactly in this tradition and you can literary see the brave heroes save the the
world when listening to tunes like the title track or “Heat of Attack“. Although
two songs (“The 80s“ and “Never Surrender“) are no strangers to us, they fit
well to the rest of the material. In addition to that, you get a magnificent
artwork, too. What a record! Hats off, Mr. BUSH!

CATS IN SPACE - Atlantis (digi pack)
|
A: 13 € |
B: 15,5 € |
|
|
|
CATS IN SPACE from England actually never disappoint. Apart
from GATHERING OF KINGS and THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA they are THE band in
terms of retro seventies pomp sounds. Songs like “Spaceship Superstar“ or
“Revolution“ for instance are multi-layered gems that include a QUEEN-like
theatrical approach. Comes with a warm and analogue production which makes
“Atlantis“ nothing but a wonderful record. “Listen To The Radio“ furthermore, is
more than just a secret hit.
