AOR HEAVEN RELEASES!

JOHAN KIHLBERG’S IMPERA - Age Of Discovery

A: 11 € B: 13 €

Falling (Edit)

Fear (Edit)

The End Of The Road (Edit)

JOHAN KIHLBERG’S IMPERA „Age Of Discovery“, the follow-up to the three IMPERA albums, is a fine selection of hard and classic rock with a great variety of vocalists. Among others you get Michael Sadler (SAGA), Nigel Bailey (THREE LIONS, BAILEY, LIFELINE), Göran Edman (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) or Nils Patrik Johansson (ASTRAL DOORS, LION’S SHARE). The Swedes, foremost Kihlberg and guitarist and co-producer Lars Criss (LION’S SHARE), made clever choices in picking the right voices for their songs. “Why Does She Care“, sung by Michael Sadler himself, is classic SAGA or “Just A Conversation“ with the mighty Göran Edman behind the mic delivers some great eighties feeling because of its poppy flavor. Apart from those highlights, “Age Of Discovery“ is totally free from fillers of any kind.

EXPECTED NEW RELEASES!

MICHAEL KRATZ - Live Your Life

A: 12,5€ B: 15 €

Michael Kratz is a Danish singer / musician that has a a long and rewarding career in the music business, especially in his home country. Michael collaborates in this new album with some legendary musicians such as Steve Lukather (Toto), Michael Landau, Dom Brown (Duran Duran), David Garfield, Christian Warburg (Paul Young) & Alessandro Del Vecchio (Revolution Saints, Hardline). "Live Your Life" contains 12 tracks that are all pure melodic rock / westcoast music at its best. Magical melodies, harmonies to die for, clever arrangements and an overall mid 80's westcoast vibe are the ingredients here. I think that the fans of this particular scene will find in "Live Your Life" the perfect purchase for them!!

CATS IN SPACE - Cats Alive

A: 12€ B: 14,5 €

Just after two great albums the British power pop outfit  delivers their first live recording. It was recorded in March 2017 at the Cardiff Motorpoint arena, when they supported Thunder. Since this was five months before the release of their second album, "Scarecrow", then unsurprisingly most of the songs featured in their set came from the first album, "Too Many Gods", with just one song from the as then unreleased 2nd album. They spread their wings with ‘Only In Vegas’, ‘Mr Heartache’ and ‘Five Minute Celebrity’, infusing the music with the broader rock hues of American AOR. The recorded sound is good, way beyond the threshold of acceptability, providing the clarity and punch you get on only the up market tours.

AOR - More Demos From L.A.

A: 12,5€ B: 15 €

After the success of the album "Rare Tracks & Demos", Frédéric Slama’ s AOR all star project is back with a CD of great songs from the past entitled "More Demos From L.A.". Featuring some incredible singers like Jesse Damon (Silent Rage, Kiss), Paul Sabu, Michael Kisur, Sarah & Mélissa Fontaine (Chasing Violets), Dane Donohue, Jerry Hludzik & Bill Kelly (Dakota) with 3 never released tracks and rockier and rawer than the versions released by Dakota. Mostly recorded during the 80's & 90's, these songs are the blueprints for the versions that appeared in the AOR albums. 17 tracks of rough and simple AOR that you don't want to miss !

STREAMLINE - Streamline (digi pack)

A: 13€ B: 15,5 €

Diamond Dawn was an awesome Swedish AOR act that sadly disbanded after their debut CD five years ago. Most members are now back with STREAMLINE (exept singer Alexander Strandell, which startet ART NATION). In fact, Streamline are Diamond Dawn with new singer Gabriel Lindmark (from Swedish hotshots WILDNESS), the rest of personnel is the same. Musically Streamline has a Melodic Rock approach with a Classic hard rock flavor. Think modern day Europe, The Night Flight Orchestra, Lucifer's Friend, Black Star Riders and some early '80s Whitesnake. Their debut offers a perfectly blend of Melodic Rock with Classic Rock and the result is timeless, so get a copy asap !

MARCO MENDOZA - Viva La Rock

A: 13,5€ B: 16 €

The bass player takes us by surprise with an unexpected solo effort which is really strong. Mendoza (ex THIN LIZZY, ex WHITESNAKE, THE DEAD DAISIES) can sing for sure but Mike Tramp (v, WHITE LION) helps out on “Chinatown“, a THIN LIZZY-like rocker. Towards the end, the songwriting weakens a bit but the majority of the material is really well done. A nice portion of funk is included. It’s groovy all over the place. Viva La Rock!

STRAY BULLETS - Shut Up

A: 12,5€ B: 15 €

Shut Up” is the debut album by Italian Sleaze/Hard Rock band Stray Bullets. 2010 they released “Lost Soul Town”, an album with ten tracks entirely played and recorded by the band as a home-made recording. In the following years, Stray Bullets faced a series of line-up changes and changed their style to a more sleaze-oriented rock sound. The 11 tracks of “Shut Up”, which includes most of the songs taken from “Lost Soul Town”, now re-written and re-arranged according to the style of the new line-up. Now Stray Bullets lacks by no means, in comparison to the leading modern Sleaze/Hard Rock bands of USA or Scandinavia. Now the band combines a fair amount of aggression with melody into a very appealing result for sleaze rock fans.

AXE - Rock’N’Roll Party – The Complete Atco Recordings

A: 15,5€ B: 18,5 €

A bit of a misleading album title which  suggests kind of a best of compilation, but  what you'll get are both mega classic AXE albums "Offering" (1982) and "Memesis" (1983) in full plus the bonus track "Midnight". After their early classics "Axe" (1979) and "Living On The Edge" (1980) on MCA records Bobby Barth & his bunch not only changed labels (Atco records), they also added a healthy dose of guitar power to their classic pomp driven AOR sound. With killer cuts such as "Rock'n'Roll Party In The Street", "Silent Soldiers", "Heat In The Street" or "Eagle Flies Alone" just to name a few you can be sure to get some prime examples of mega classic US melodic (pomp) hard rock of the highest order !

SPECIAL OFFERS!

CARE OF NIGHT - Connected

A: 7,5 € B: 9,5 €

Classic AOR from Sweden never dies! Every few months a new band from the north is about to continue the legacy of bands like ALIEN or BAD HABIT. Latest hopefuls are CARE OF NIGHT who arised from the Metal band SEVEN TEARS. Their debut was produced by Anders and Erik Wigelius (WIGELIUS) and even though it’s not overly original or challenging, it features many strong melodies, high dynamics and some recognition value. Songs like the up-tempo opener “Cassandra”, the impulsive “Those Words”, the saxophone accompanied “Dividing Lines”, the subdued “Unify” or the the more than 7 minute long opus “Say You Will” are like a Ferrero Rocher: You already know what it’s gonna taste like, but it’s always a pleasure! In other words: If you like the description “WORK OF ART meets HOUSTON meets STREET TALK”, then add CARE OF NIGHT’s “Connected” to your order form!

COLD CHISEL - The Perfect Crime

A: 7,5 € B: 9,5 €

Pioneers of the Australian rock scene, COLD CHISEL are here to prove that they’ve still got it with their new album "The Perfect Crime". The album sees the balance of hearty tunes that are full of driven guitars, and slower songs that feature much more piano and a snappy beat. Although "The Perfect Crime" might not be ‘The Perfect Album’ it does have many redeeming qualities and some finely crafted pub rock that can appeal to everyone. It’s mainly full of impressive lyrics that are elevated to new levels of grit and power by the strong backing vocals. It’s a bit rock, a bit jazz and it’s got some elements you wouldn’t expect from Cold Chisel, but Jimmy Barnes certainly owns it.
